Hurricane Ike has another casualty! Our beloved bowling alley. Here in Galveston Texas, most businesses cater to the tourists. One stood alone in catering to it's own. Island Bowl, (first known as Seahorse Bowl,) has been a part of the island for too many years to count. We have lost her to Hurricane Ike. The owners havwe decided NOT to rebuild. We as bowlers are devistated. We need a bowling alley. It's unbelievable that someone has not looked into putting a new bowling alley on this busy island. Between the tourist season and the die-hard bowlers, it could stay busy year round. There's got to be an invester that would like to tap into our growing economy down here on the beach. The big push for legalized gambling down here is just another draw for more folks. I've been bowling since I was about 10.(47 now)My dad has bowled here since he was young, and my son has followed in our footsteps. This is not just a business, It's a family. We plead for someone to hear us and come to our rescue. We love bowling and the frendships that come with it. The closest lanes to us are about 20 to 30 minutes away. With traffic, there's no way to get off work, change clothes, and drive there in time to bowl. Many bowlers have said their bowling days are over. This is pitiful. We didn't ask for this to happen. It's just one more thing this disaster has done to us on the island. We've come back from the damage, we just want our beloved sport to come back as well. HELP give us a new house to bowl in.

OWCH!!!! When you're hot you're hot! Our first night of the new season I set a whopping 230 average. What a dummy. I know I'll crash and burn next week.(LOL) I started out with a 276. Then a 227. And finished with a 188. I did set a good score for the year for high scratch honors! I just hope next week will be at least close to a 200.
